Looking for a list of the best selling books of all time? You’re in the right place! Sort of… 🤔 Why? Because full, reliable, updated data on book sales just doesn’t exist. Not today. (Not even from major sources like Amazon and Nielsen.) And certainly not if you go back in history. That’s why, what you’ll find here today (as with any other list of best selling books) is a very imperfect, guesstimate at sales numbers and rankings of the best selling books of all time (based, in my case on this Wikipedia page). And the fact is, that’s as close to an 80/20 on the best selling books of all time as you’re ever going to get.
